The NYX Story: The Original LED Goggles

2011: The OGs

It all started with some old ski goggles, automotive LEDs, and a soldering iron. Controlled by a toggle switch, who knew that few blue and white LEDs would turn into an idea.

Premiering at EDC - Dallas in 2011, these bad boys were seen around the world: from Gold Coast, AUS to London

These were the spark that started the fire.

Early 2012: The Sparks

In the immortal words of The Boss “You can’t start a fire without a spark”.

Well, meet The Sparks. The first goggles with blinking RGB LEDs, It only took a few shows to find out that The Sparks were a hit. They started a fire, a fire that would become NYX.

EDC 2012: The Tweens

We all have our awkward years, these were ours.
After soldering the past two versions, We figured it was time to put on our big boy pants by hiring some VERY overqualified electrical engineers to design a real product.

The Tweens had 24 patterns, variable speed and brightness, and RGB LEDs, but there were still a few design flaws….and two batteries? GROSS!!

Halloween 2012: The BMFs

Samuel L. (Lamborghini) Jackson would be proud of these BMFs.

-64 RGB LEDS - 27 Patterns - Mic Mode - 3 hrs avg. battery life

The BMFs featured Mic Mode, Which meant that all 27 Patterns and all 64 LEDs would go to whatever music you were listening to. It was time to take NYX Goggles to the public for sale.

NYE 2012: The Rev Es

What does “Rev E” stand for? Let’s just say that this was the Revolution of E (heh). The Rev Es were the first goggles to be mass manufactured and sold to the public. These premiered at Lights All Night 2012 and have kept the dream alive for the past seven years…. but it is time to bring NYX Goggles into the 2020’s..

Coming Soon: The Next Episodes

It’s been seven years…

Why the hiatus? Well, the owners of the company thought that getting “real jobs” would be fun. Oh boy, were they wrong.

What that means is that we have had plenty of time to think of the next model’s improvements:

-Fully App Controlled-

-Bluetooth Connectivity-

-65 High-Intensity RGB LEDs-

-User Created Custom Patterns-

-Rechargeable Battery located on Strap-
